Hello, and welcome to my online portfolio. My name is Robert Ricks (as you already know) and I'll give you a little information about myself.
I started my design career in the late '80s with an airbrush company called "Living Color Airbrushing", while trying to figure out what I wanted to do when "I grew up"... Airbrushing started fading in popularity, so I got a 'real job' doing data entry and started my Technical Career.
In 1993 a friend of mine introduced me to the internet... It blew me away and I wanted to create what I was looking at and convinced my boss to let me create a company website. The websites back in the day were just a few images and text. Nothing compared to the media rich sites we have now!
As time went on I found myself working with a lot of different companies and projects. I've worked with companies such as Nintendo, Microsoft, Cartoon Network, Sony, Franchise Films, Spy Glass Films, Hewlett Packard, Eidos, Warner Bros., Power Music, American Idol, and Fujitsu. I also have had the pleasure of working with a lot of bands and singers such as Evans Blue, Placebo, Linda Strawbery, Smashing Pumpkins, Money B, Digital Underground, Tony! Toni! Toné!, Malika, Brian McKnight, Miko Marks, Burnt, Deconstruct, G-Stack, the Delinquents, UVR, Split 50, and a ton outta Oakland... I've also been fortunate enough to work on projects for Carmen Electra, Cal Ripkens and The Biggest Loser.
I spend most of my time working and when not doing that try to spend time with family and friends.
I'm heavily into gaming and love playing MMOs (World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Guild Wars, City of Heroes, and a few FPSs)
There's time when I also play Card Games (Yu-Gi-Oh!, WoW, etc.) and one of the most gratifying things I've ever done was create and publish my own Collectible Card Game The STREET WARriorS
